Lycoris Recoil Announces Manga Adaption & Light Novel Spin-Off!

 

Manga Adaptation

The original TV anime “Lycoris Recoil” is soon receiving a manga adaptation announced for September 5, 2022, with the storyboard by Yasunori Bizen. Monthly Comic Flapper will begin serializing it with the October edition.

The plot follows the anime, but whether or not it will add manga original scenes is not yet confirmed. Maybe we will find out once it releases!

Along with the official announcement comes a special illustration for the manga adaptation.

Light Novel Spin-Off

The manga aside, a Light Novel spin-off was also announced, scheduled for September 9, 2022. The novel is titled Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days. The author of Lycoris Recoil is writing the spin-off novel along with illustrations by the anime’s character designer, Imigimuru. The spin-off novel features the characters’ daily lives in the city.

Lycoris Recoil also revealed the cover illustration for the upcoming light novel spin-off on their official Twitter.

As of writing, A-1 Pictures is currently producing the ongoing anime series Lycoris Recoil, with Shingo Adachi as the director. It is also now streaming and you can watch it on Crunchyroll

The official English website and Japanese Website describe the plot of the anime as:

“LycoReco” is a café with a traditional Japanese twist located in downtown Tokyo. But the delicious coffee and sugary sweets are not the only orders this café takes! From delivering packages to short distances, to pick-ups and drop-offs on the lonely streets at night, to zombies and giant monster extermination…?! Whatever your problem, we’re here to help! We will solve any kind of “trouble” you may have! Waiting for you are the ever-smiling poster girl and the cool, serious newcomer. A petite girl who never wants to work and a young woman approaching thirty who wants to get married. And the manager is a nice guy who’s obsessed with Japan! Whatever your order is, leave it all up to us!
